ぬちぐすい＝命の薬
何か素晴らしいものに出会った時、沖縄の人たちは「ぬちぐすいやっさー」と思わずもらしてしまう。
体に良いものだけでなく心を豊かにするものは、すべて「ぬちぐすい」なのであるわけさー。

展示はシキヤンの海のひろい物で作った「顔」と、マキシの陶器。
きっと、ぬちぐすいになるはずよ～！

ネパールのヒマラヤの村で作られている水牛もしくは牛の革のことを通称ビレッジレザーと呼んでいます
ものすごい山の中なので当然立派な施設もなく各家庭の庭先で作られています

昔ながらの方法で山の植物のタンニンを利用して約２ヶ月かけてなめします
温度をはかったりしないし、材料を入れたりする時もいつも目分量
だから毎回出来上がるビレッジレザーは表情が違います
色が濃かったり、薄かったりやわらかかったり、固かったり

時には、というかわりとしょっちゅうですが、 革の表面に汚れがついていたり、傷があったりします
日本の基準で言えば　全部B品としてはねられそう
でもそれを全部ひっくるめてビレッジレザーの魅力なんだと思っています
なんだかんだすったもんだと作ったチャハットのビレッジレザーシリーズ紹介します
